Functional green space within a city’s boundaries can improve the urban environment. Community sustainable initiatives inspire “green” innovation which, encourages community engagement and continued participation.

The Digging-iT Project objective is to renovate the historical Zverina Log House, on a quarter of an acre, into purposeful green space. In documenting this process a new media approach involves digital practices, that are based on programming digital and bio-technological art.

During the development of the documentary, the students of Washington Park Environmental Academy observe fluid positions and unstable boundaries in nature. They deal with production of flexible forms, fast data flow, openness towards instant information, reflexive organization and participation in natural to hybrid environments. Continued..
